Three charged after ‘£2k worth’ of heroin and crack cocaine seized during plain-clothed operation in Blackpool

A plain-clothed operation was recently held in the Claremont area following community concerns about drug dealing.

Officers were accompanied by the Project ADDER (Addiction, Diversion, Disruption, Enforcement and Recovery) team - a programme designed to address drug addiction and tackle supply in the hardest hit local authority areas across England and Wales.

During the operation, officers saw two men conducting what was believed to be a drug deal.

Officers stopped the two males, where approximately £2,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine was found along with a quantity of cash and mobile phones, resulting in their arrest.

Police continued enquiries in the area where a further man was located and arrested following evidence of drug supply being found on his persons.

Three men were later charged with being concerned in the supply of class A drugs:

David Payne, 38, from Lindbeck Road, Blackpool

Stephen Brown, 43, of no fixed address

Michael McGraw, 36, from Dickson Road, Blackpool

They were due to appear in court today.
