Thieves smash through shop wall in Blackpool to steal motorbikes worth £17,500

Thieves smashed through a brick shop wall in Blackpool overnight where they stole motocross bikes worth £17,500.

Four bikes were taken from Blackpool MX in Stanmore Avenue, off Common Edge Road, after burglars broke through a three-layer brick wall at 3.30am (Wednesday, March 3).

Pictures from inside the shop show a gaping hole in the wall where burglars have forced their way through from the outside.

The MX shop has also shared CCTV footage of the hooded thieves feeding the bikes through the hole in the shop wall before making their getaway.

The four bikes - worth a combined total of £17,500 - had recently been listed for sale on the company's Facebook page.

The owner has offered a £5,000 reward for information that might lead to the recovery of the bikes.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at around 9am today (Wednesday, February 3) to reports of a burglary at a premises on Stanmore Avenue, Blackpool.

"Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made as yet.

"Anybody with information should call 101, quoting log 258 of March 3."
