Jessica Saffron Watson, 22, of Lane Ends Court, Blackpool, was not allowed to associate with under-18s but stayed under the same roof as a 17-year-old boy for a week, the court was told.

She also failed to notify police of her address or sign in at the police station.

Watson also admitted stealing a police-style riot baton and assaulting a woman. She was given a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement of 45 days. She must also live at a relative’s address in Carlisle, Cumbria, and pay her attack victim £100 in compensation.

Defence lawyer Patrick Nelligan said Watson lost her temper when a woman branded her a “paedophile” – a reference to her previous conviction that saw her put on the Sex Offenders’ Register.

He said: “This offence gained her infamy in the area where she lived. People called her a paedophile and she reacted. She had kissed a young boy at a party.”

Jess Williams, 20, drug-driving

A woman’s car was stopped by police, who had been told its driver was smoking a cannabis joint.

Jess Williams was then tested, with two drugs found in her system.

Jobless Williams, 20, of Winnipeg Place, Bispham, pleaded guilty to two offences of drug-driving.

She was banned from the road for 14 months, fined £120 with £40 costs, and ordered to pay £32 victims’ surcharge.

Prosecutor Pam Smith said police got a report that the driver of a Ford Fiesta in North Drive was smoking cannabis at around 10.50pm on September 10.

Police stopped Williams, and a blood test showed 253 units of a cocaine by-product in her system. The limit is 50. It also showed 3.1 units of cannabis, above the legal limit of two.

Defending, Allan Cobain said his client, who had no previous conviction, said the police officer claimed someone had seen a gun in the car. There was a fishing rod, and she was going to collect someone who had been night fishing.

Williams accepted she had smoke cannabis socially but was no longer using the drug. She insisted she had never used cocaine, and suspected her drink had been spiked in the days before she was pulled over – saying she felt unwell while celebrating her birthday.

Nickel Walsh, 42, drink-driving without insurance or an MoT

A driver was more than twice the legal drink-drive limit when police pulled him over because his vehicle was showing up as uninsured with no MoT.

Nickel Walsh, 42, of Truno Close, Poulton, pleaded guilty to drink-driving without insurance or an MoT, and was banned from the roads for 22 months.

He was also fined £450 with £85 costs, and ordered to pay £45 victims’ surcharge.

Prosecutor Pam Smith said police saw Walsh’s Ford Transit van on a roundabout on January 25.

He was stopped in Benedict Drive, with Walsh’s partner and friend also on board.

A breath test showed 81 microgrammes of alcohol in Walsh’s system. The limit is 35.

Defending, David Charnley said his client had been to the pub for a drink but had not eaten that day.

There had been no criticism of his driving and he had co-operated with police.

Walsh believed he had insurance but it had run out on January 9, he added.
