Iraqi asylum seeker Ahmed Hassan, 18, plotted to cause carnage in central London while pretending to engage with the anti-terrorism Prevent scheme.

The media and photography student at Brooklands College in Weybridge left his bomb on a train to Wimbledon, where it partially exploded on the floor of the carriage at Parsons Green.

Some 93 commuters ducked for cover and scrambled to escape when a fireball rolled down the carriage.

Hassan was remanded to be sentenced next week.
