The pair were walking behind The Friends of St Paul’s shop in Oxford Road when a man grabbed the bag and ran off towards the alley leading back to Woodlands Road, police said yesterday.

They have appealed for witnesses to come forward as they investigate the incident, which happened at around 11.20am last Saturday, and left the pensioner with minor injuries to her forehead.

They are also keen for those with CCTV cameras to check their footage.
