The raiders are understood to have been caught on CCTV when they struck in Coop Street on Saturday. It is not known how much cash was taken in the audacious raid, which took place at the end of a busy Saturday just a few hundred yards away from Blackpool’s police headquarters. The money was taken from a machine on a private car park. Two men were captured on camera as they calmly went about their work, making off with coins from the machine.Car park boss Howard Plant posted a description of the men online. He said: “ The look-out is about 5ft 7ins wearing blue jeans and black trainers and a black coat with interior of the hood white. “The main culprit is 5ft 10ins to 6ft. “He has black hair, was wearing white trainers, black trainer pants and a blue hoodie. “They both smoke and seem to be very relaxed.”Mr Plant suggested the men would both have been carrying a large quantity of change following the theft. He told The Gazette the men had spent around two hours at the scene. He said: "The cash box was broken so I wasn't able to empty the machine."Then I went on holiday."They've hit the jackpot."It's a bit of an anomaly because of the circumstances but they've probably got away with about £600. A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “We were called on Saturday to reports of cash being stolen from a car park payment machine. It appears a drill has been used to access the cash box. We are looking at CCTV footage.”Anyone with information should call 1010 quoting log 1317 of May 13.
