After dealing with an unrelated job in Fleetwood, the mounted police officers were contacted by a community police officer in Cleveleys, to help out with a group of teens after reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Jubilee Ward.

Groups of 15-20 youths had been causing issues at the top of Beach Road, the promenade, the Travellers Rest pub and the Vue cinema.

"They had issues with youths in the area and said mounted assistance would be appreciated, as a high visibility presence to reassure the public.

"The main areas for the ASB are around Beach Road, where a group of 15-20 youths are causing issues at the Travellers Rest, Vue cinema, skate park and the prom area.

"We have and are attending the area, throughout the evenings to disperse any groups and to show a presence in the area, as well as assisting local patrols with any jobs."

Jubilee ward councillor Rob Fail said: "After trouble with ASB in the area early in 2019, it's important that it's not allowed to get out of hand as it did then.

"Quite why groups of such size are meeting up at this time is bewildering, but any action to nip this ASB in the bud, has to be welcomed."
