Police release update after man is arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Blackpool

The pair - aged 31 and 28 - were taken in for questioning after a dark coloured Vauxhall Insignia smashed into a tree and garden wall in Marton Drive, South Shore, following a police chase.
Minutes earlier, at around 11pm last Thursday, the same car was driven onto the pavement and at a police officer called to a "disturbance" in Central Drive, central Blackpool, the force said.

Hide AdAnd shortly before that, at around 10.45pm, the Vauxhall was suspected of smashing into a blue Citroen C3 in Bispham Road, Bispham, leaving its female driver - a grandmother - badly shaken but unhurt.
The 2018-plated Citroen was written off after suffering extensive damage to its right side after allegedly being side-swiped while indicating to turn right.
The 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and drink-driving.
The 28-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, and drink-driving.
Both were quizzed before being released under investigation.
