Officers have received several reports about the group who have been targeting homes in Bedford Road, Convent Road, Ansdell Road, Hawe Side Lane and Ellesmere Road.

Police said two or three men had been reported going door to door.

They are described as white, aged between 40 and 50 around five feet six inches tall with dark brown hair and irish accents.

Callers have been reported to be wearing dark blue or navy blue tops with green writing.

One was wearing beige trousers, another navy blue.

The men have no ID badges.

Sgt Iain Andrew of the Blackpool Central Neighbourhood policing team said: "These men have been trying to pressure householders into buying inferior products, in this case sets of very sharp chef's knives."
