Police hunt prison escapee

Police have launched an appeal to trace a wanted man who absconded from Kirkham prison.

Keith John Knight, 26, from Southport, is thought to have left HMP Kirkham last Friday.

He was serving a four year sentence for robbery.

Knight is known to have links to Merseyside and Lancashire, in particular Southport, Burscough, Preston and Blackpool.

Detective Sergeant Angela Grey said: “If you have seen or know of Knight’s whereabouts, I would urge you not to approach him but to contact the police as soon as possible.

“Similarly, if Keith Knight himself sees this appeal, I would also advise him to hand himself in at a local police station as we are actively seeking him and it’s just a matter of time before we find him.”

Knight is described as white, around 5ft 11ins, slight build with brown hair and blue eyes. He is known to have a scar on his right arm.
