Police dismantle large cannabis factory at an industrial unit in Bispham

A large cannabis factory found in an industrial unit in Bispham has been dismantled by police.

Officers from Blackpool Task Force have been assisting Blackpool Neighbourhood Police with the dismantling of a large cannabis factory at an industrial unit in Bispham today (January 5).

Police reportedly found nearly 1,000 plants within multiple rooms of the industrial unit.

It is not known whether anyone has been arrested at this stage.

A spokesperson for Blackpool Police said: "Today Blackpool Task Force have been assisting Blackpool NHP with the dismantling of a cannabis factory at an industrial unit in the Bispham area.

"Nearly one thousand plants were in this industrial set up with multiple rooms containing plants.

"Proceeds from illegal cannabis grows is known to fund other criminal enterprises including modern slavery, human trafficking and even terrorism. "

Lancashire Police have been approached for comment.
