Blackpool Neighbourhood team posted a message on social media on Saturday evening to say they had received numerous reports of anti-social behaviour caused by a large group of youths at Moor Park in Bispham.

The message said: "Parents, do you know where your children are, especially during a national lockdown?

"Please encourage your children to stay at home."

The post prompted numerous replies, with one saying: "A £10,000 fine for the parents will sort the problem... Out of sight out of mind mentality!"

Another said: "Parents should not be letting them out end of! If I did that when younger, I would have felt the wrath. Parents have no control over their kids these days sadly."

A mum said in reply to the police message: "It's so unfair - my 12-year-old had to stop playing grassroots football yet these kids are running riot. Get a grip of your kids", but another correspondent said: "Let them have their fun - they’re just kids."
