Kyle Bee, 18, of Shakespeare Road, Fleetwood, was given a suspended jail term for a burglary at a hotel in the town in January - but just eight days later he burgled a neighbour on his own street.

He has been sent to a young offender’s institute for 12 months over a string of offences. On January 27, Bee’s mother contacted police when he began behaving aggressively, high on a cocktail of drink and drugs, Preston Crown Court heard.

Prosecuting, Frances McEntee said police attended his home and he tried to punch an officer who struggled with him as she tried to handcuff him.

During the fracas he threatened to firebomb the house of another neighbour.

He admitted burglary, assaulting a PC, threatening behaviour and being drunk and disorderly.

The court heard Bee had been removed from mainstream education and did not achieve any qualifications, but had recently started a joinery course at college.

The Honorary Recorder of Preston, Judge Mark Brown, said: “Your criminal record reveals you are a persistent offender who has a track record of anti social behaviour and breaching court orders “Putting it bluntly although you’re only 18 and present as much younger.

“The court over the last few years has done its very best by you by endeavouring to provide assistance. Despite that you’ve continued to offend and on many occasions breached court orders.

“It’s an aggravating feature that a few days before the present offences, you had been given a suspended sentence.

“It’s a particularly mean and nasty thing to have done, that is to burgle the home of somebody living close by.”
