Pair wanted after Blackpool attack

Detectives are appealing for information after a 20-year-old man was robbed in Blackpool.

Police were called around 2.30am today (September 26) to reports of a robbery in Grosvenor Street.

A 20-year-old man was walking home when he was approached from behind by two men.

The pair attacked the victim, knocking him to the floor, before punching him and taking a wallet, cash and a mobile phone. The victim also suffered a stab wound to the leg during the assault.

The attackers made off from the scene towards Peter Street before later being seen in the Deansgate area. Both suspects were wearing dark clothing including balaclavas and hoodies with the hoods up.

Detectives are appealing for information following the robbery.

Det Con Christine Baynham-Swales, of Blackpool CID, said: “This was a violent, unprovoked attack on a member of the public making his way home after a night out.

“These offenders need to be identified and brought to justice. I would urge anyone with information to contact us immediately.

“If you saw the men described in the area at the time of the offence, please call police.”
