Pair in court on attempted murder charge

Two men, including one from Lytham, have appeared before a court charged with attempted murder.

Jack Wilding, 20, of no fixed address, and Donovan Wallace, 26, from Lytham, appeared before Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on Saturday charged in connection with the attempted murder of Mark Walsh, who was allegedly injured with a shotgun.

Both men were remanded in custody and will face a preliminary hearing at Preston Crown Court on February 9.

Police were called at about 9pm on Monday, January 12 to a report that a 35 year old man had been assaulted outside an address on Maudsley Street in Accrington.

It is alleged a shotgun was discharged.

A 29-year-old man from Lytham who was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed by police pending further enquiries.
