OAP admits theft spee

A pensioner stole a large amount of goods from a Kirkham garden centre.

Kathleen Peterson, 70, of Turner Street, Preston, did not attend court but entered a guilty plea to theft by letter.

The case was adjourned to February 24 by Blackpool magistrates for Peterson to appear at court for sentence.

Magistrates were told Peterson had taken five bottles of perfume, two gift bags, two sets of men’s gloves, a pair of slippers, two bangles. five blocks of chocolate, a bag of tomatoes and a bag of birdseed from Dobbies Garden World on December 19 last year.

In her letter, Peterson stated she had been very ill with various health problems over the last year, including chemotherapy.
