Men from Preston and Wigan arrested after brawl at Blackpool hotel

Two men - from Preston and Wigan - have been arrested after a brawl broke out in a Blackpool hotel.

Police issued a public appeal yesterday (July 27) as part of an investigation into a violent clash between two groups at the Doric Hotel in Queens Promenade at around 11.15pm on Sunday, July 5.

Images were provided of two men who had been wanted in connection with the incident.

A 26-year-old man, from Wigan, and a 25-year-old man, from Preston, were both arrested this morning on suspicion of violent disorder. They are currently in custody.

A police spokesman said: "Further to yesterday's appeal regarding disorder at a Blackpool hotel, the two men we wanted to speak to in connection with the incident have now been arrested.

"Thank you to everybody who supported and shared our appeal."

Three men from Preston - aged 17, 18 and 36 - were previously arrested on suspicion of violent disorder following initial investigations.

Patrick Gavin, 36, of Leighton Street, Preston has since been charged with violent disorder and appeared before Preston Magistrates' Court on July 22.

The 17-year-old and 18-year-old have been released on bail.
