A man has been taken to hospital following a 'police incident' in Bispham's Rock Gardens this afternoon (May 6).

The man has been taken to Blackpool Vic by ambulance after paramedics were called to the scene at 12.09pm.

A number of police vehicles responded to the incident, with officers stationed at the park's entrances in Devonshire Road and Inver Road.

They were soon joined by ambulance crews and a senior clinician.

A spokesman for NWAS said: "We were called out at 12.09pm and we have taken a male patient to hospital.

"We sent one ambulance and a senior clinician to the scene.

"It is considered a police incident and we are unable to provide further details."

It follows reports of a manhunt, with officers seen patrolling the park in groups and searching hedges.

Lancashire Police have been approached for comment.
