Barrett, a 31-year-old refuse collector, of St Albans Road, St Annes, pleaded guilty to burglary. He also admitted breaching two conditional discharges.

Barrett was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison suspended for two years and put on two years supervision by Blackpool magistrates.

Steven Townley, defending, said: “He had consumed alcohol and Valium, did not know what he was doing and behaved in a bizarre fashion.”
