Man squared up to park guards

Peter Cooper, 31, of Lobelia Avenue, Farnworth, became aggressive, telling officers at Marton Mere Holiday Village: “Come on let’s have it.”

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said police were called to Martin Mere Holiday Park on Saturday at 10.45pm after men had been causing trouble there.

Cooper and another man were asked to leave the site.

Cooper said he had paid £28,000 for the caravan and that he was going nowhere.

He became very loud shouting: “I’d like to see you get me out of here.”

Two security officers tried to remove Cooper. He struggled, had to be restrained and was then arrested.

Steven Townley, defending, told magistrates that his client said the previous time he had been at the site he had had an argument with security guards.

He believed they had it in for him, and said he had no way of getting home at the time they removed him.

Cooper pleaded guilty to breaching the peace and was bound over in the sum of £200 for six months by Blackpool magistrates.
