Man rushed to hospital after being mauled by dog in Blackpool

Ambulance crews were called to the home in Milbourne Street at around 8.35am, after a man suffered serious dog bites to his head and hands.
A number of police units responded and blocked off the road whilst the dog was detained in a neighbours garden in Charles Street.

Hide AdLancashire Police said the dog has now been seized and an investigation is under way.
A police spokesman said: "We were called around 8.35am today (Thursday, January 14) by the Ambulance Service after a report of a dog bite at an address in Milbourne Street, Blackpool.
"Officers attended with a man found at the scene with injuries to his hands, fingers and head.
"The dog was detained in the garden of a neighbouring property in Charles Street and has been secured in a police van."

Hide AdNorth West Ambulance Service confirmed that a man has been taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.
An ambulance spokesman said: "We responded to an incident in Milbourne Street, Blackpool at 8.27am. We’ve attended the scene with an ambulance and one patient has been taken to hospital."
