Man hit out at partner on visit to Prom hotel

Darren Biggin grabbed his partner by the hair, put his hand round her throat and punched her several times in the face at the Park House Hotel, a court heard.

Biggin, 39, of Murby Way, Leicester, pleaded guilty to assault. He was sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment suspended for 12 months with up to 15 days rehabilitation to be supervised by the probation service and ordered to pay a £150 court charge with £85 costs plus £80 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Prosecutor, Pam Smith, said Biggin and his partner made a visit to the resort to surprise his partner’s mother and father who were staying in the resort on October 24.

Back at the hotel he then accused his partner of “taking the mickey” out of him.
