Police said two men had set upon the 39-year-old victim, a barman at the venue, after being refused entry.

He was knocked unconscious during the assault and suffered a fractured left eye socket as well as severe bruising and swelling.

The incident took place at 3.30am and police said the pair behaved in an “aggressive” manner as they were escorted from the premises.
