Man assaulted by gang after answering door

A man was attacked in Blackpool last night after opening his door to a gang of thugs.

The incident happened on Vance Road at around 10.30pm yesterday. A group of around six men knocked on the door of an address and assaulted the resident when he opened it, police said.

He suffered minor facial injuries and was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

No arrests have been made and a police investigation is ongoing. No description of the men could be provided at this time.
