Man arrested after attempted burglary at Cleveleys travel agent

A man was arrested after police responded to a burglar alarm at a travel agent in Cleveleys.

Police responded to a monitored burglar alarm at a travel agent in Victoria Road West at around 11.10pm on Sunday, November 8.

Following a two-hour stand-off officers used a battering ram to gain entry to the address.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and the stolen items were recovered. He remains in custody for questioning.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "Fleetwood Police Team 5 have responded to a monitored alarm at a travel agents on Victoria Road West, Cleveleys at 11.10pm on the evening of November 8, 2020.

"Within two hours, entry had been gained at a local address (with help from the big red key), a 35-year-old male suspect was arrested on suspicion of burglary and the items stolen were recovered.

"He will be interviewed later today before a charging decision will be made."
