Man and teen arrested in Thornton as 'several men' smash windows

Three police vans and two police cars attended a house on Meadows Avenue, Thornton, at 7.30am.
A fire engine from Bispham also attended the scene to help police, a Lancashire Fire and Rescue spokesman confirmed.

Hide AdA 26-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of affray following the incident.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We were called at 7.30am today to a report of a public order offence on Meadows Avenue, Thornton.
"It was reported that several men were damaging the property, smashing downstairs windows and a windscreen of a car parked outside.
"It is believed the address was targeted deliberately and there is not thought to be a threat to the wider community.

Hide Ad"A 26-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have since been arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log reference 0215 of October 2nd."
Police confirmed that residents can expect extra patrols in the area, to reassure anyone who is concerned.
