Lottery winner supports partner

A woman who won £250,0000 on a lottery scratchcard was in court to support her boyfriend when he appear on theft charges – after he gave her similar support.

David Buckley admitted stealing almost £1,500 of electric razors.

His partner, Nicola Lord, 38, was in the public gallery at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court to give him moral support. She had appeared at court in custody earlier this month and admitted stealing £514 of perfume just two days after her massive win was confirmed.

Buckley, 34, who lives with Lord in Station Road, pleaded guilty to four offences of theft.

He was sentenced to four weeks’ prison suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £1,459 compensation, a £180 court charge, £20 costs and £80 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
