Garden wall is damaged in crash

A car veered off the road and crashed into the garden wall of a nearby house.

Police closed the junction of Hemingway and Ellesmere Road, in South Shore, following the collision involving two vehicles.

A grey Fiat Punto had to be removed from the 3ft high wall at the front of a house, where it became lodged following the incident at around 3.45pm yesterday.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “An ambulance was called and the driver of the Fiat Punto was treated for shock.

“An investigation is underway into how the collision occurred.”

There were no reports of any other injuries.
