Hide AdPolice said this failed to light and the offenders – who were all wearing dark clothes and balaclavas – fled the scene on foot.
Det Insp Jill Vescovi, of Fleetwood Police, said: “Fortunately the fire did not spread further than the car and driveway, but this is pure luck and this incident could have been so much worse.“We would now like to hear from anybody who saw what happened, or who saw the group of men making off from the scene.
“We would also like to see any CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage which could help us piece together what happened.”
Detectives said they were particularly keen to see footage which could help them establish which way the offenders fled.

“However we will have extra patrols in the area and anybody with concerns is welcome to speak to an officer.”
