Forensics investigate man's death at Fleetwood town centre flat

A forensics investigation has taken place at a flat in Fleetwood following the death of a man in his 40s yesterday (Tuesday, March 23).

The man's body was found in a flat above Betfred in Lord Street at around 3.30pm and forensics attended to ascertain the cause of death.

Officers cordoned off the side entrance to the flat in Mount Street whilst an investigation into the 45-year-old's death took place.

Today (Wednesday, March 24), Lancashire Police confirmed that the man's death is not being treated as suspicious.

Inspector Kevin Lister said: "I can confirm police attended an address on Mount Street, Fleetwood shortly after 3.30 pm yesterday.

"A 45 -year-old male was found deceased in a private dwelling. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time."

Police have not released details on the cause of death, but said a file has been prepared for the coroner.

A spokesman for the force added: "This is a non-suspicious death of a man in his 40s. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
