Fly tippers dump asbestos

A load of potentially hazardous waste has been fly-tipped outside a house.

Asbestos was left on the pavement outside a home in Green Drive, Cleveleys on Tuesday evening.

The incident, at the corner of Marlbrough Avenue involved a large quantity of the now-outlawed building material which in certain forms has been known to cause cancer.

The asbestos is believed to have been dumped by a white Citroën Berlingo van and officials from Wyre Council believe this vehicle is responsible for other similar flytips.

Wyre Council staff are also investigating a fly-tipping incident in Fleetwood.

Aload of bricks and wood was tipped on Jameson Road.
