Fleetwood man seriously injured after falling from window in Galloway Road

A man has been seriously injured after falling from a window in Fleetwood today (Tuesday, October 24).

Police closed Galloway Road, off The Esplanade, after the man fell from a skylight while trying to climb onto the roof of a two-storey semi-detached home at around 11.18am.

The air ambulance was called out and medics landed on the Sunken Car Park while a road ambulance also made its way to the scene.

In addition to the helicopter and ambulance, North West Ambulance Service also dispatched a ‘rapid response’ paramedic who arrived at the scene within two minutes.

The man has suffered serious injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

Galloway Road has since reopened but the home remains cordoned off while police investigate the circumstances of how he fell from the window.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.21am today to Galloway Road, Fleetwood, to a report that a man had fallen from the window of a property.

“Emergency services attended and a man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the fall.”
