Driver facing fifth road ban

A motorist could be banned from driving for the fifth time after he got behind the wheel while suspended.

Carpet fitter Simon Loy of Highbury Road West, St Annes, admitted disqualified driving and driving without insurance when he appeared before Blackpool Magistrates.

Loy, 30, was seen by a police officer driving a Fiat Punto along School Road, Marton and was pulled over.

John McLaren ,defending, told the court: “They are most unfortunate circumstances.

“My client had been told his mother who has cancer was very ill at hospital and he wanted to visit her as soon as possible.”

Magistrates ordered pre sentence reports on Loy.
