Christmas Day row led to dad's arrest

Police were called when a Christmas Day family row turned nasty.

They arrested new father Ben Taylor, 23, and when offices tried to put him in their van he kicked one of them in the stomach.

Car mechanic Taylor, of Eastwood Avenue, Layton, admitted assaulting the PC on December 25 last year when he appeared before Blackpool Magistrates.

Pam Smith, prosecuting. said it was late on Christmas Day that police were called to a family row at a house on Rathmell Close, Grange Park.

They handcuffed Taylor but as they took him to their vehicle he braced himself and would not go in.

When he finally got in he lay on the van floor and recklessly kicked out hitting one officer. Taylor was fined £150 and he was ordered to pay £105 costs.
