CCTV shows thief brazenly stealing car from outside Blackpool Tesco

The theft happened at around 9.40pm on Thursday, September 3 at the Tesco Express in Whitegate Drive.

In the footage, a man is seen approaching from the main road and making a bee-line for the car.

He appears to be wearing a face covering, a dark t-shirt, light-coloured trousers and has dark hair.

The red Vauxhall Corsa Limited Edition, registration SD65 UHP, has not been seen since.

Lancashire Police said it is aware that the CCTV is not of great quality, but the force is asking anyone with information to come forward.

A police spokesman said: "Police are looking to speak to the person in the video in relation to the theft of a vehicle from Tesco Express on Whitegate Drive, Blackpool at approximately 9.40pm on Thursday, September 3, 2020.

"If you know anything about this incident, the person involved or the current whereabouts of the vehicle, please contact the OIC on [email protected].

"Alternatively you can contact CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting Lancashire Police log reference: LC-20200903-1507."
