CCTV appeal after 12-year-old Bispham boy is injured in hit-and-run

A CCTV image has been shared by police in a bid to trace a driver involved in an alleged hit-and-run in Bispham.

Police say the driver failed to stop at the scene after a 12-year-old boy was knocked down whilst riding his bike at the junction of Ashfield Road and Bristol Avenue at around 4.15pm on Tuesday (December 29).

The boy was treated at the scene by ambulance crews, but did not require hospital treatment.

Lancashire Police have now released a CCTV image of the vehicle they believe might have been involved in the collision as they continue to search for the driver.

A police spokesman said: "At around 4.15pm on Tuesday, December 29, police and ambulance were called to a road traffic collision at the junction of Ashfield Road and Bristol Avenue in Bispham.

"Following the collision, a 12-year-old cyclist has received minor injuries.

"Police are eager to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and may have witnessed it.

"In particular, we are hoping to identify the driver of the vehicle in the below CCTV still who may be able to assist us with our enquiries."
