Cannabis farm and machetes found during raid on Blackpool hotel

Police found a large cannabis factory in a Blackpool hotel and machetes hidden outside following reports that an 'East European gang' had 'taken over' the building.

The discovery was made yesterday, November 13, during a police raid.

A spokesman said: "Blackpool North NHP received information that a East European gang had taken over a hotel in north Blackpool and had been seen in possession of machetes. An emergency warrant was obtained and executed with Blackpool task force, where a large cannabis factory has been discovered. This has been dismantled and disposed of.

"Machetes have also been discovered hidden outside which have been seized.

"There is not believed to be any risk to the general public and the investigation is on going."
