Police in Blackpool have launched an unusual mercy mission.... to re-unite a beloved cuddly toy with its owner.

The fluffy animal, nicknamed Moosey by the officer who found it, was picked up close to the Tower at around 6.30pm on Wednesday

PCSO Georgina Flemming is hoping she can make a child happy by returning a furry friend.

She said: " On my tour of duty on the Promenade, outside the Tower, I found a child’s teddy who looks more than loved.

"I have a daughter and if she lost her beloved bear she would be devastated.

"This could mean the world to someone and if I can get it back to them it would be amazing."
