Burglar threatens police officer and member of public with syringe in Blackpool

An 'urgent appeal' has been launched to find a man who threatened a police officer and a member of the public with a syringe in Blackpool.

Police were called to reports of a burglary on South Park Drive at around 2.30pm today (June 12).

The man ran away from the scene after he was disturbed by police but was caught on Carsluith Avenue.

He then proceeded to pull out a syringe before threatening a police officer and a member of the public with the needle.

The offender then made off from the scene on foot.

PC Nathan Gulati, of Blackpool Police, said: "We need to find this man as a matter of urgency as he is clearly prepared to threaten both police officers and members of the public.

"If you know him or where he may be please get in touch with us."

The man is described as white, bald, with a grey stubbly beard and a dark puffa jacket.
