Boy 'tried to stab girl' at Blackpool secondary school
A boy allegedly tried to stab one of his classmates during an altercation at a Blackpool school - but was stopped by a teacher.
Police were called to Unity Academy on Warbreck Hill Road on Wednesday to reports that a 15-year-old girl had been assaulted.
Head teacher Stephen Cooke said: "The incident is being investigated by the school and the police. There was no ambulance called; the intervention of staff prevented any injury."
A police spokesman said: "We are investigating following a report that a 15-year-old girl was assaulted at the school on Wednesday afternoon. Enquiries are on-going."
