'Borrowed' Audi seized outside of a Blackpool school after failing to stop for police

A  car has been seized by police in Blackpool after it was leant by the owner to a friend who was allegedly uninsured.

The black Audi A4 Avant was stopped by the Lancs Road Police team at the entrance of St Cuthbert’s Catholic Academy in Lightwood Avenue, South Shore after the driver initially failed to stop for officers.

The incident happened after 11pm yesterday. When police carried out checks they discovered the driver was borrowing the Audi from a friend and allegedly wasn’t insured to drive the vehicle.

Lancs Road Police posted an image of the Audi on its Twitter account and said: “If you lend your car to your mate who isn’t insured to drive it and then fails to stop for police don’t be surprised when it gets seized. This was taken off the road in Blackpool.”
