Teresa Cunliffe, from Poulton, is desperate to be reunited with her one-year-old pup Maggie, who disappeared on a walk in Stanley Park yesterday morning (Thursday, December 17).

Maggie had been sniffing happily among the leaves in the park whilst Teresa quickly answered a call on her mobile. But moments later, when Teresa went to put Maggie back on her lead, the pup was gone.

A frantic Teresa quickly gathered together an impromptu search party, including fellow dog walkers and a group of workmen, but Maggie was nowhere to be found.

Teresa's desperate pleas for information on Maggie's whereabouts has been shared widely on social media, and has even caught the attention of Blackpool Police, who shared her appeal.

But Maggie remains missing more than 24 hours later and Teresa suspects that she might have been stolen.

She is now offering a £500 reward for her safe return, or to anyone with information that can lead to her recovery.

"She didn’t bolt off or run. She is a very well trained and obedient dog and has never strayed or ran off before.

"I answered a phone call, so I was distracted for a moment, and then I went to put her lead on her collar and she just wasn’t there!

"She was just in the leaves sniffing around. And then she just disappeared.

"The people close to me at the time with their dogs just froze and waited whilst I did a frantic search, but no luck."

Teresa said Maggie is very friendly and will happily play with other dogs. She also loves treats and will approach someone who offers her food.

She added: "Everyone in the park was so helpful and kind and folk are still helping me to look for our beautiful baby dog.

"I'm now offering a £500 reward for her safe return or for information leading to her safe recovery.

"She can be dropped off at the Texaco petrol station in Garstang Road, between Plymouth Road roundabout and Poulton traffic lights, no questions asked.

"We just want our baby doggie home."
