Kris Kam, 35, suffered a severed artery in his leg in an attack witnessed by a 12-year-old boy and a woman who lived nearby, who heard shouts of: "You've got the wrong man" and "Help, I've been stabbed."

Police and paramedics were called around 11.13am on Saturday, October 26, to Queen Victoria Road, Blackpool, close to the junction with Levens Grove.

The youngster, who ran over to help Mr Kam, got a towel at the woman's request so they could try to stem the bleeding.

Mr Kam was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment but died at around 8.24pm on Sunday, October 27, 2019.

Christopher Carrington, 26, of no fixed address, Shaquille Cumberbatch, 27, of Montrose Avenue, Edgware, London, Kevin Gracia, 26, of Hilltop Avenue, London, and Munochismo Eriken, 28, of South Green, London, all deny his murder and are on trial at Preston Crown Court.

Evidence shows around an hour after the brutal attack, at 12.41pm, a takeaway order for seven meals was placed via the Just Eat app to deliver to a flat on Central Drive linked to the defendants.

Prosecuting, Peter Reid QC said various pieces of CCTV evidence had shown the defendants in a VW Golf driving around the areas of Grasmere Road, Bela Grove and Wyre Grove before the attack.

Mr Kam's friend and housemate had lent him his bank card so he could borrow and withdraw £10 from an ATM at the nearby McColl's. Mr Kam was cycling back from McColl's when the men pulled up in the VW Golf.

The court heard a boy, who can't be named for legal reasons, was on top of a disused shipping container near the Revoe School and saw the incident.

Mr Reid said: "He describes four males, all dressed in black, jumped out and attacked the man on the bike, kicking the bike to get him off it, then booting and punching him while on the ground. One then produced a knife and stabbed the man on the ground twice.

"He says three men got out of the back and one out of the front passenger door and he thought there was a driver as well.

"As soon as one of them stabbed the man they got back into the car. The person who had been attacked was up against a nearby garden wall.

He added the attack was over in a "matter of seconds," with a tracking device on the VW Golf showing 30 seconds between the car pulling up and moving again.

Witness Kelly Harrison was leaving her home with a young friend when she saw a black vehicle speed past and pull up near Levens Grove.

She saw three doors open, and three men in dark clothing getting out, and was so concerned she pushed her young friend back inside,

Mr Reid said: " She didn't see the attack but she heard someone say: "Aah you've got the wrong man."

"As she closed her front door she heard someone say: "Help I've been stabbed" and she could see blood gushing from his leg.

As Miss Harrison and the boy alerted 999 and tried to help Mr Kam he "was drifting in and out of consciousness".

The first ambulance arrived at 11.21am and some police officers were already there. Mr Kam was slumped over and being supported by one of the witnesses.

He was conscious but in "peri arrest" - the stage just before cardiac arrest.

Mr Reid added: "He was struggling to breath and a tourniquet was applied. Steps were taken to assist his breathing but his condition was deteriorating."

The court was told of events leading up to the men's arrests.

Mr Reid explained there was a high profile police presence in Central Avenue as officers made enquiries.

At around 3.15pm a takeaway driver arrived to deliver a food order to the flat that had been placed at 12.41pm. He was accompanied to the back door by a police officer but nobody answered.

Moments later members of the public ran around to tell them several men were jumping from the flat's first floor window at the front.

The court also heard the day before the stabbing Cumberbatch and Carrington are alleged to have robbed an 18-year-old of a blue phone.

The prosecution says the same blue phone was found smashed up in a box when police searched the flat on Central Drive, and they argue that comparison of the clothing recovered from the defendants on their arrest, clothes seen on CCTV and from the flat identifies the four defendants.
