Blackpool man charged after Poulton pensioners are robbed in their own homes

A man has been charged by police after two elderly pensioners were robbed in their homes in Poulton.

Michael Green, 34, of Yew Tree Road, Blackpool, has been charged with two offences of aggravated burglary and one offence of fraud.

Around 7.45pm on Tuesday, August 11, an 89-year-old pensioner was allegedly assaulted and robbed at a home in Stanley Avenue.

Five days later on Sunday, August 16, a 94-year-old man was reportedly attacked at a home in Wyresdale Avenue.

Police issued a public appeal for information and on Monday (August 17) Green was arrested.

He has been remanded to appear at Blackpool Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday, August 19).
