Blackpool Council granted permission to clear group of travellers from Revoe Park after court hearing

A group of travellers who took up residence on a park in Blackpool town centre have been ordered to move on.

District Judge Jane Goodwin sitting at Blackpool Magistrates Court granted Blackpool Council permission to remove unauthorised campers from Revoe Park in Central Drive.

Nine caravans have been occupying the land since Monday (June 20).

The families now have 24 hours to remove themselves and their pets from the site .

The travellers did not turn up at court to object.

Blackpool Council is expected to take similar action against a group of travellers who set up camp near the resort's main police station in Clifton Road.
