'˜Bearhug' assault in row over '˜too loud' music
A man grabbed his girlfriend round the chest in a bearhug after she complained he was playing his music too loudly.
Dean Bennett, who had been drinking, was pulled off his partner by her sister. Bennett, 30, of Talbot Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to assault.
He was fined £80 with £85 costs and ordered to pay £50 compensation plus £30 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
Steven Townley, defending, said Bennett said when his partner pulled his phone out of the docking station the screen cracked. She was not injured when he put his arms round her.
