A man in his 40s suffered a facial injury and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

A woman was also rescued from the burning building but declined hospital treatment, according to police.

Detectives now believe accelerants may have been used to start the fire, prompting an arson investigation to be launched by police.

Det Insp Jamie Lillystone, of Blackpool CID, said: "Initial enquiries between both the fire service and police suggest accelerants may have been used to start the blaze.
