Accused man comes up with hefty excuse for not wearing his electronic tag

The prosecution of a 20-year-old Blackpool man for breaching his electronically monitored curfew has been dropped .

His lawyer Hugh Pond argued at Blackpool Magistrates Court that his client, Ryan Taylor of London Road, Blackpool, had so far had had eight tags attached.

"He is 28 stone in weight and they keep popping off" said Mr Pond.

"He does not leave the property when this happens and has not re-offended."

Taylor is awaiting sentence at Preston Crown Court after admitting the possession and supply of Class A drugs.
