Teams have also stopped a Mercedes C63 driving at speeds of up to 100mph through Preston, and used their “coppers nose” to detect drivers without insurance and driving under the influence of drugs.

7. "Personal racetrack"
The driver of this Mercedes AMG C63 was using London Way, Preston as his own personal racetrack driving in excess of 100mph. Unfortunately for the driver he was being followed by two patrol cars.

8. Nervous
According to officers, the driver of this van looked "very nervous" when patrols drove past on Pedders Lane, Preston.

This car came to the attention of road police officers because it was lane hogging and the driver wouldn't move over.
After checks were carried out, it transpired that the driver and passenger were both provisional drivers.

10. Stolen car
This stolen Ford Fiesta was sighted on the M61 by road police.
The driver pulled over and was found to have no licence or insurance and tested positive for drugs. They were arrested and the car recovered. Photo: Lancs Police
