Crews tackle Blackpool flat fire off Central Drive

Fire crews were called out to tackle a fire in a flat off Central Drive last night (Tuesday, March 2).

Crews from South Shore and Blackpool stations rushed to Ibbison Court shortly after 9pm after a fire broke out in the kitchen of a flat.

Firefighters used a hose reel to put the fire out and were at the scene for more than an hour.

No injuries have been reported.

The fire service has not provided a cause for the fire, but did say it is not believed to be suspicious.

A fire service spokesman said: "At 9.07pm, two fire engines from South Shore and Blackpool attended an incident in Ibbison Court, Blackpool.

"The incident was within a kitchen of a domestic property and firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

"There were no casualties. Firefighters were at the scene for one hour and ten minutes."

The fire service has been approached for further details on the cause of the fire.
